Making Peach Cake!

What to do on a chilly evening...some low-grade peaches, a boy who loves to make cake...peach cake!
Lovely if chilly day going out to brunch with a three-yr-old and Uncle Barry and Auntie D:
M: We are going out to lunch! Let's go to the little park first! Then to lunch!
N: Don't want to! Want to go to the big park!
M: We'll go to lunch first, then go to the park!
N: No! I want to go to the big park first, then go to lunch (cries, etc...)
M: (sits back, considers joining an Ashram...canceling reservations...) ok...
D: Wait a minute, maybe he'll come around.
N: Ok, we'll go to lunch, then to the park!
Barry and Deanna come over, all say hi, etc...
N: Want to take the car!!
All: No, we are walking. There's no parking.
N: (cries, etc...) want to take the caaaarrrrr!
All: Do you want to sit in the stroller and Daddy pushes you??
N; Yes!
And off we go! He was perfectly fine once we got there and all enjoyed their heirloom bread and oven-roasted eggs (I kid you not! oven-roasted!) and roasted ling cod, wood-oven fired French toast (I kid you not!) and other delights.
Oh, and the cake? Um, not good!

Walking distance to fine dining? That's great.
Nate is learning to speak up for himself but compromise for the love of his parents. And he gets rewarded with fine dining and a fun stroller trip too.
Oh, I know. Half the time if you cave in, he changes his mind anyway, so we just try to make sure he gets to do something he picks at some point...he did get to go to the playground after, and had a VERY late nap, up late, etc...it's vacation time, whatever!
