Nate's Solstice Birthday!

Mommy packed in a dozen or so peoples, big and little, to help Nate celebrate a late birthday. The weather turned cold and rainy so I decided to have the kidlets do Xmas sugar cookies! Everyone used the little rolling pins and turned out an expert product! It reminded me of the blizzard parties my mom would host in the 70's where our little friends blew in on a cloud of snow. Back then we had a lot sleepovers and parents wouldn't go to parties, as Matt's mom pointed out, leaving one mom with about 7 children to watch!

It was nice seeing Nora's mom Kirsten, who Matt went to high school with! Anne came over with little Mo who had a fine time drawing and doing cookies. Nate greeted guests with "It's Winter time! Winter time!" and spent much of the morning in the back with the boys and his Hot Wheels.

Great idea -- making cookies! I love the rolling pins, too. So the guys were more interested in the cars and trucks -- not surprising.

Cooking is always fun, but why do the guys have to stick together? Must be a guy-thing. What a great idea for a birthday activity.
