No one Awive!!

Nate loves Matt's old Dr. Seuss "Happy Birthday to You" (from the land of Katroo) ca. 1959. The language is really fun but sometimes Nate focuses on certain parts of sentences...hence, the "no one alive!" part of "There is no one alive who is you-er than you!"

Nate's cadence, diction and even baby "accent" are all changing really quickly. He is really responding to other people, too. On the way to the baby store today mommy babbled away as usual in the car "We are going to the store to go get you a new bathtub, the old one is broken." When we arrived and the clerk asked us what we were looking for Nate piped right in "Need a bathtub!" Then: "where are the bathtubs?" and marched right ahead!

When we start school in a another week I think he'll jump right in there. Right now the most important thing in his day is visiting the neighbor's air conditioner and discussing the noise it makes. Any "machine" is the subject of much discussion.

I think he is a bit young for the entire meaning.

What is it about boys and machines!! What an incredibly articulate little guy -- takes after Mom and Dad, no doubt. Also, all those books. Nate and I are about even on language when I speak Spanish.

Dr. Seuss is fun but Nate sort of creates his own story out of what he can understand...the horns make noise, water is cool, stuff like that...does not know what a "birthday" is yet!

Nate and daddy are having their Sunday outing, momma cleans, finishes some knitting.
