La Escuela

Ok, finally a few pics of the kids.
Lots of lovely parents still there--everyone leaves the kids later on, like next week. Teacher Debbie does storytime. Nate draws on the easel. They have paints some days, too, today the paint was rollered on to tables. They have a groovy play structure outside with a cool "treehouse" and lots of challenges like a tire ladder. None of this namby-pamby plastic for our school! Also, note the cool old toy trucks on the shelf behind teacher Debbie in storytime.

This is so cute!

And its just a small class too. That one looks a year old. I forgot to ask if there was an age range.

A couple of women have itty-bitty babies they are toting, and the littlest guy is 22 months, I think. Someone's older sister is there right now for some reason, bored out of her skull. There's 16 kids in the class, though, pretty big for tots. Usually only a few parents will be there at a time.

...and how has it changed our lives? Not so much, yet. Nate definitely seems happier when we go, but we still are having problems with getting over tired for naps (both of us!). He did a couple of interesting things, though, doesn't want his diaper anymore and is better at the potty, so we're moving ahead with that end of things, and I think the contact with the kids is really helping, not that they all go potty together, just the newness in general.

What a great experience for Nate! He's growing up so fast! Great to see plastic gradually disappearing. Well, at least not being added to the 40-year old stuff that, of course, still survives.
