Happy Viking New Year

It's an arctic theme this Dec./Jan.

We get Mucky all decked out in every available sweater, longjohns, flannel-lined pants, and his new "Hanz" mittens ("put on! hanz!). He comes back from his evening stroll (Pah-hutch! Boop boop!") all toasty and happy with a "Hi Momma!"

Mommy was happy to get her new fav. English knitting book and found a "Tundra" theme set of patterns, she is making this seriously shaggy one...looks very demure on the model, however, it is shaggy.
Finished "The Long Exile" about a community of Inuit moved about in Nunavut, also "The Far Traveler," which was super-awesome (lots of good archaeology and fabrics information, love it! Those Vikings were very particular about their clothing, and made very shaggy wool capes that repelled the rain and sleet and snow [cue Led Zepplin lyrics]).

New songs: Mucky can sing just about all of "I've Been Working on the Railroad."
New toddler obsession: elevator or "Edo" is quickly eclipsing both "pah-hutch" and "bun" for the best crying fit in public. Somehow he remembered Tarzhay had an edo and insisted we ride it straight away, though we hadn't been there in months!

We are having our ten-inch snow fall here!
Picked up Nate outfits in size four at Costco yesterday - all are Oshgosh or whatever and some darling sweaters made in Banglisdish (sp?).
Had to grab again -the stuff was going fast.
Mush you huskies! And a Happy New Year to all.
