Happy New Year

What do Nate and Daddy do when Daddy has the day off and Mommy is making breakfast?

YouTube provides entertainment in bite-size pieces in the breakfast nook. Here, in reverse order watched, is the Friday morning lineup. At Nate's request, we started with "choo choo." Daddy found a weird one of a Japanese steam train. At bottom is a more representative sample of a choo choo video Nate watches often -- some winter footage of a steam train chugging through the Harz forest in Germany that Suzanne has bookmarked.

Daddy, playing DJ , rolled several Undertones videos, with Nate enjoying the cheerful sounding "It's gonna happen" (he doesn't have to know it's about The Troubles). Below is a cool live performance of "Jimmy Jimmy."

Finally, Mommy suggested a return to choo choos. But Daddy, looking for something new, found the Les Shockley jet truck dragster video above that is setting YouTube on fire. You have to crank the volume, and you won't want to miss the ending.

Off to the big city on BART for post Christmas bargains and a few spins on the merry-go-round for Nate.
